- How much does it cost to join EMS?
- For performing members, the subscription fee is £3.50 per month, with concessions (for under 18's and over 65's) at £3.00 per month. For non-performing members, the annual subscription fee is £8.00.
- What types of membership do you offer?
- We offer acting membership (with our senior and youth groups) as well as non-acting membership.
- I can't sing or dance but want to help out - what else could I do?
- We always need help backstage, with props, costumes, make-up, front of house, etc.
- How old do I have to be to become an EMS member?
- Minimum age for joining the seniors is 16, but if the show requires children, we audition them separately. For our youth group the minimum age is 11.
- Where do you rehearse?
- We rehearse at our rehearsal rooms on Granville Avenue, Long Eaton, Nottingham (opposite the Sportsman public house)
- When do you rehearse?
- Rehearsals are normally on Monday and Fridays from 7.30pm to 10.00pm, but at the run-up to the show, we also rehearse on Sundays, usually between 10.00am and 12 noon.
- How do I become a member?
- Open auditions are held for new members three or four times a year.
- What do I have to do at the new member's audition?
- Audition requirements are to sing a song (a pianist is available if sheet music is used, or you can bring a backing tape or CD). You will be asked to read a piece of dialogue (this is given to you at the audition, and you are not required to learn it by heart); and you will be expected to perform a short dance routine.
